Bank Tower Clock In 1929, this art deco building with two clock faces was erected. Through satellite synchronization, these historical clocks are visible for miles & even back lit at night.

Camera Obscura (Italian for "dark room") A life-size, walk through pinhole camera (one of three in the United States). Revolving turret on the roof that can be rotated by means of an old ship's wheel inside, capturing an image of the surrounding ocean's beauty that is reflected on the table. The focus changes as the table is tilted. Palisades Park, N. of Broadway Open 10AM-5PM daily. Free.

Juneteenth Recognizes the freeing of slaves in America as a result of the Civil War and the 1863 Emancipation Proclamation. It is the oldest known commemoration of the end of slavery and is celebrated in more than 150 cities and 30 states. Santa Monica is one of those cities. (310) 451-8124

Route 66 (First Federal Interstate Highway) ends in Santa Monica. Dedicated in 1926 & went from Chicago to Los Angeles, & over the years stretched to Santa Monica. Will show the once rumored Route 66 local ending point, (touching Santa Monica's shore) on the Downtown Santa Monica Walking Tour.
